Welcome to Bosbury CE Primary School
A very warm welcome to our thriving and friendly school where our kind, hardworking and caring pupils are at the heart of everything we do.
"COURAGE, COMPASSION, CREATIVITY"
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Bosbury!
Be sure to check out the Calendar page of the website for a handy reminder of all the important festive dates and events coming up over the last three very busy weeks of the Autumn Term!

You will find us in a picturesque rural conservation area in the shadow of the scenic Malvern Hills, just four miles from the popular market town of Ledbury in Herefordshire. Our pupils have the advantage of learning at the centre of a rural farming community, also being lucky enough to have our beautiful village church situated directly opposite the school. While we are extremely fortunate to be situated in such a close-knit location, we ensure that our pupils experience many opportunities in the wider community such as themed visits to places of interest including museums and galleries, literary and poetry festivals, music and theatre performances, and of course, the ever-popular three-day residential trips!
We are a welcoming, all-inclusive school where every child matters, and we focus on the specific needs of each and every one of our pupils. Our enriching, thematic curriculum incorporates real life experiences and is designed to enable all children to succeed. We offer modern foreign languages, quality sports coaching through a partnership with the Kidderminster Harriers foundation, with swimming lessons also taking place at the nearby Halo Leisure Centre in Ledbury.
We offer exciting forest school opportunities with our own sizeable forest school site located at the top of our school field, with recent years seeing the addition of a greenhouse to support gardening at school, along with a developing school pond project.
Bosbury School has an extremely strong musical and art influence, with several extra-curricular global and themed days contributing to a well-rounded and stimulating education, furthered by our exciting links with the Tara School in Rwanda and The Grove School in Handsworth, Birmingham.
Our staff are committed to the all-round development of our pupils, and carry out regular progress checks to make sure children are reaching their full potential. We aim to enable our pupils to gain self-esteem, confidence, independence, imagination and generosity of
spirit.
For working parents, we are lucky enough to have the added advantage of wraparound childcare through Jack-In-The-Box; an independently-run nursery which operates at Leadon Lodge just next door, as well as Crib Cottage for the youngest children just over the road. A highly-professional and expert team at JITBX provides both a breakfast club and tea club Monday through to Thursday, with Year 1-6 children now being able to use the more spacious facilities at Bosbury Parish Hall in the evenings; we know how important it is for our pupils to be able to let off steam after another busy school day!
New for the 2023/24 academic year, the school itself provides both before and after school care and activities on Fridays during term-time.
Our school offers Thrive support, with a member of staff (accompanied by our lovely school therapy dog Otto!) being fully trained in mental health to offer full support to both pupils and parents during more recent times when we have all found things more challenging. We have the added advantage of a school crossing patrol operating at both the start and end of the school day in order to keep children and adults safe on the road just outside our school, with seven of our staff also holding current paediatric first aid qualifications.
In our 2011 and 2014 Ofsted Inspections, we achieved the grade of 'Outstanding'. We become a Global Expert Centre in 2015, were awarded Arts Mark Gold in 2015, and have also received Sports Mark Gold for several years running.
In 2015, the school received a SIAMS 'Outstanding' rating, and this year received a SIAMS 'Excellent' rating (click the logo on the right to view our most recent SIAMS report).
We are proud of our pupils. They take an active role in their wider world and ask ‘big’ questions about it. They are confident, articulate, kind to each other and polite to staff and visitors. They actively participate in our Arts Council, School Council and as playground buddies. Our choir, drumming and drama group are often out and about performing, and over 80% of our children attend an after-school club.
We hope you find all the information you need on our website, but if you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to contact our main reception on 01531 640276, or email admin@bosbury.hereford.sch.uk.
Our school is open to pupils from 8:40am to 3:20pm, (32.5 hours) with after school clubs running until 4:00pm and drumming club taking place before the school day begins. We also offer Year 6 maths booster sessions before school and additional tutoring sessions after school.
Enjoy exploring our ever-growing website, and may I again offer a very warm Bosbury welcome to our fantastic school. We welcome all feedback from parents, which can be made on the OFSTED Parent View website at https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/.
