Clubs

HOORAY! CLUBS ARE BACK FOR THE SPRING TERM!

We have a whopping fourteen clubs on offer this term, including a brand new Key Stage 2 debating club led by Bosbury governor Mr. Gilchrist and our lovely new Class 1 teacher Mrs. Coles, a new mixed media art club run by our very creative Headteacher Mrs. McManus, a Times Table Rockstars lunchtime club led by our returning Deputy Headteacher Mrs. Roberts, and a new animation club run by the talented Mrs. Thompson!

A handy table displaying all clubs on offer this term as well as when they start and whether they are ON or OFF that week, can be viewed below.

Please note that all clubs, apart from choir and the breakfast SATs revision club, do not start until week beginning Monday 27th January. To give the best possible chance of securing a place in the club your child wants to join, remember to get your completed club application forms in as soon as possible this week!

A HUGE thank you to all of our club leaders for giving up their time to deliver such a fantastic range of varied after school activities.

"The take-up of extra-curricular clubs is extensive, including for pupils with SEND and for those who are disadvantaged. Over the course of a year, practically all pupils attend at least one club with many attending several. Staff go above and beyond to offer these clubs, and pupils and their parents thoroughly appreciate this." - OFSTED, September 2024

Below is a reminder of our after school club rules which we kindly ask all parents, carers and pupils to follow in order to ensure the smooth running of clubs and safety of children:

 Children are not permitted to drop out from a club for the rest of the term unless the school receives a legitimate reason in writing from parents, such as an injury which prevents the child from doing a physical activity for a prolonged period of time;

 Children must go to the club they originally signed up for, and are not permitted to change their minds and attend a different club during that term;

⇒ Parents MUST inform the school office if their child is going to miss a club that week for a valid reason such as illness or doctors and dentist appointments;

 If a parent is persistently late in collecting a child from an after school club (all clubs finish promptly at 4:00pm unless otherwise stated in the above table), the child will unfortunately have to leave the club. Our staff remain very busy after school attending meetings, preparing lessons and marking work ready for the next day, and do not have time to supervise children after closing time;

 A child who exhibits persistently poor behaviour will be asked to leave the club;

 Key Stage 2 children will only be allowed to walk home alone after a club has taken place if a parent or carer has previously completed a walking home form; these are available from either Mrs. Bentley or Mrs. Bolton in the school office;

Children who are attending our wraparound care after school on the day of their club should join the wraparound care group once their club session has finished at 4:00pm, unless a parent or carer has notified the school office that the child will be collected from school at 4:00pm. After school wraparound care leaders are Mrs. Smith (Monday to Friday), Mr. Duffett (Mondays and Tuesdays), and Mr. Ponter (Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays).

 Children will need PE kit if attending a sports club that day. Children already in PE kit from PE lessons earlier in the day can simply stay in their kit; trainers should be in school at all times for the daily mile run.
