Year 1 and 3 Enjoy Whole Week of Forest School!
Year 1 and Year 3 enjoyed a special treat this week as they got to spend not one, not two, not even three but FOUR separate forest school sessions with Mrs. Dark, Mr. Ponter, Monkey and Chimp in the gorgeous summer sunshine!
After becoming well-acquainted with the infamous Bosbury Forest School Chant (don't know it? Just ask any Key Stage 1 child to sing it to you!), the children had a quick discussion about the forest school rules with Monkey before getting busy with a whole variety of free-roaming activities, including shelter-building, minibeast hunting, braving the notorious Tunnel of Doom, cooking up some very tasty-looking (?) concoctions in the mud kitchen and of course playing on the ever-popular new tyre swing!
There were also special activities which many children turned their hands to with great creativity, such as producing forest school crowns and colour charts (Monkey even got a crown of his own to wear!)...
... while other children really turned their hands to the fine art of whittling. Some even produced sharpened sticks which were pointed enough to write with using mud ink!
