Class 5's Fantastic Easter Market Fundraiser!

Class 5 showed incredible entrepreneurial and charitable spirit just before the Easter Holidays, putting their heads together to create a truly marvellous fundraising market in the school hall with all sorts of goodies on sale!

What started as a simple RHSE lesson grew and blossomed into a fabulous pupil-led initiative, which saw eager young customers flood into the hall in the afternoon with beady eyes on the huge selection of cupcakes, cookies and Easter eggs on offer as well as the extremely colourful display of cuddly toys, plushies, puzzles, toys and games. Some stalls even included home-made friendship bracelets, raffles and tombolas, and of course the ever-popular Guess the Name of the Big Cuddly Toy competition!

Mrs. Dark waved parents in afterwards to further boost sales, as one young lady is going to be exceptionally busy over Easter busily making more of her extremely clever crochet octopuses (or is it octopi...?). They were SO popular during the sale, that the girls actually ran out of stock and an order list had to be created due to so many keen customers not wanting to miss out! What an amazingly successful product which will surely have both Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden knocking on the door very soon!

Our amazing Year 5 and 6 stall-owners showed such remarkable creativity and enthusiasm, designing and putting up all of their own appeal notices for toy donations around school, creating all the signs and decorations for their stalls, and carefully arranging all of their goodies on display.

We were astounded by their sheer determination, resilience and determination shown during such a fantastic self-led project, and you can imagine how delighted they all were when Mrs. Dark revealed that they had managed to raise over £600 in total, which will be split between their nominated charities of The Little Princess Trust, St. Michael's Hospice and the World Wildlife Fund.

Congratulations Class 5! What a truly sterling effort with so much thoughtfulness, generosity and compassion shown towards others. We are SO very proud of you all!
