Class 3 are Perfect Pedestrians!
Class 3 were out and about on the sunny streets of Bosbury on Tuesday afternoon in their snazzy numbered fluorescent vests, putting everything they had learnt about road safety with Emma from the local authority into practice with a practical activity around the neighbouring housing estate.
As you can see however, the children were feeling quite disappointed at the prospect of spending the afternoon outside of the classroom with not a spelling test or homework book in sight...!
Under the watchful eyes of Emma, Mrs. Turnbull, Mrs. Christopherson, Miss Felles, Mrs. Gregory and our very own school crossing patrol officer Mr. Ponter, the children practised staying focused and attentive when walking along pavements, keeping a good distance away from kerbs and watching and listening out for cars... all while managing to remain extremely smiley!
Perhaps the trickiest skill was crossing the road behind parked cars. The children had to walk out into the road just far enough to see around the parked vehicle, before crossing the road when they were sure it was safe - as very ably demonstrated by young lady number 25 below!
Well done to our brilliant Class 3 Bosbury pedestrians - we wish them luck for when they complete the final stage of their training with Emma next Tuesday!
