Bosbury's Got Talent 2024 - The Search Begins!
You asked for it... and we listened. After a hiatus last year, being put on hold in 2021 and having to go virtual in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are delighted to announce that Bosbury's Got Talent is BACK in glorious style for 2024!
Yes, it's time to dust off those microphones, hone your dancing skills, perfect those amazing magic acts, teach your dog new tricks and practise those hilarious one-liners - our ever-popular whole school talent show, formed back in 2016 at the special request of our school council at the time, is returning for its seventh competition!
ITV executives have been approached, Ant and Dec have already been booked, and even though attempts to contact Simon Cowell have so far failed (his phone always seems to be engaged when Mrs. Bolton tries to phone through), we can confirm that the contest will launch this Friday, with auditions taking place in each class over the next week or so as two or three entries from each go through to the final fifteen in the exciting live Grand Final to be held in the school hall on Wednesday 22nd May.
Entries are open to individual acts, duet performances and small groups, and just about anything goes in terms of what you can perform! Singing, dancing, ballet, instrument playing, gymnastics, magic tricks, juggling, football skills, hula hoop acts, puppet shows, comedy routines, impersonations, baking the staff cakes and making them cups of tea in the shortest time possible... the choice is yours!*
Possible Bosbury's Got Talent 2024 judging panel (to be confirmed)
All we ask is that you be brave, try your best and, above all, have fun with your audition. Originality, creativity, confidence, polish and something which just generally makes you stand out from the crowd will of course significantly increase your chances of receiving the Golden Buzzer, and acts with an educational leaning are also sure to earn you major Brownie points from the Bosbury's Got Talent judges (wink wink nudge nudge)!
Any music which you wish to use during your acts is also requested by the show's backstage crew (ie. Mr. Ponter) to be burned on to a CD first to avoid any potential technical hiccups during the live show. YouTube is available, but CDs tend to be more reliable. USB sticks and iPods are also an option, providing they are clearly labelled, kept safe in school and brought in at the owner's own risk - ITV plc cannot accept any reliability or responsibility for any lost or damaged pieces of recording equipment.
To get you in the mood and to give you further ideas and inspiration, we leave you with a final montage of past BGT competitors and winners going from the most recent 2022 competition all the way back to the inaugural year of the contest. How many of them can you remember...?
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF THIS YEAR'S BOSBURY'S GOT TALENT ENTRANTS! THE WINNERS WILL APPEAR ON THE WEBSITE VERY SOON!
* DISCLAIMER: Our school fire warden Mr. Ponter does request that, in the interests of health and safety, any acts involving flaming hoops, fire-breathing or juggling flaming skittles while riding a unicycle blindfolded are NOT permitted for entry. Thank you.
