Bosbury Enjoys Another Super Spanish Café!

Bosbury School was awash with red and yellow and filled with the smells of tasty paella, churros and chorizos on Wednesday afternoon as the very lovely Señora Symonds hosted the second of the school's very special Spanish cafés!

The children loved coming into school resplendent in the colours of the Spanish flag, with some very smiley señoritas in Key Stage 1 even going to the trouble of wearing some traditional Spanish dress for the day to really get themselves in the mood of Espagne...

... before rehearsing their Spanish musical performances which they have been practising with Mrs. Symonds as part of their Spanish topics this term in preparation to perform them to the rest of the children on stage in the school hall during the café.

The café itself saw a delicious mix of continental treats being served to each class in turn by very capable waiters and waitresses from other classes, and this year the children got to experience the extra special treat of yummy paella being cooked on a special fire pit in the playground by cook extraordinaire Mrs. Walker!

As you can see, Class 5 in particular loved sharing the experience with their Class 1 buddies as they enjoyed a range of different Spanish performances, including a circus extravaganza from Class 3!

A wonderful afternoon then ended with the children taking advantage of the colours that they were wearing that day to lie down on the field and form the shape of a huge Spanish flag, with the photo even being taken by an overhead drone! Although there was a slight shortage of yellow garments, we are sure that you'll agree that the children did a commendable job in recreating the flag!

A huge, HUGE "GRACIAS" to Mrs. Symonds for all of her time, effort and hard work in putting together another very special day which we are sure will live long in the memories of Bosbury children. Thank you also to all of the other staff who helped out on the day, to all of the parents who kindly donated to the cost of the food and no doubt rushed around the night before in putting red and yellow attire together, and thank you of course also to all of the children who were Spanish superstars!

¡Bravo! Bosbury!
