Meet the Governors

Letter to parents from our new Chair of Governors, Mr Mike Sessarego:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am honoured to have been chosen to be the new Chair of Governors at Bosbury School.  Although I have only been a member of the board of governors for eighteen months, I bring to the role a great deal of relevant experience.

For twenty-one years I was the Headteacher of a similar sized school to Bosbury, so I understand the hard work that is required of a small staff if they are to offer a rich and varied curriculum.  I also bring to the role seven years working as a School Improvement Partner.  In that position, I supported schools in an urban setting and had my eyes opened to the range of difficult and challenging situations they have to face.

As a great believer in providing an interesting and exciting curriculum, it is encouraging to see the wide range of activities that take place in school.  A broad and balanced curriculum provides every child with an opportunity to succeed and, fortunately, puts us in a good place with regard to the new Ofsted Inspection Framework.

From the moment I entered the school, I felt very much at home in an environment very similar to my former school. I was impressed by the behaviour of the children and of the commitment shown by the staff and the leadership team in order to help the pupils achieve their potential.  This has led me to volunteer every Thursday morning in Class 1, and has helped me to get a real understanding of the day-to-day running of the school.

I am very fortunate to follow two excellent chairs of governors, Mrs. Emma Smith and Mr. Robert Lane, who have helped established good systems and a strong Christian ethos. They will be a hard act to follow, but I will certainly do my best.

Best wishes

Mr Mike Sessarego - Bosbury CE Primary School Chair of Governors
