LATEST GOVERNOR NEWS!

We would like to say a HUGE Bosbury thank you to Mr. Mike Sessarego, who has decided to stand down as Vice Chair of Governors.

Mike has worked so hard and been a tremendous support to our school over the last six years, the majority of which he has served as Chair of Governors. In particular, Mike did a commendable job helping to lead the school during an unprecedented and extremely challenging eighteen months of COVID-19 school closures, lockdowns and restrictions.

More recently, Mike has been a very familiar and friendly face to our lovely Class 1 children, who have really enjoyed working with him both in the classroom and up in the wilds of Forest School, and he has also been spending time working in Class 3 this school year helping pupils develop their maths and ICT skills.

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Mike for all he has done for the Bosbury School community, and wish him all the best for his retirement.

Mr. David Slingsby, already a very well-known face at Bosbury as a previous Foundation Governor, regular Open the Book assembly star and Class 5 further maths support tutor, has recently taken on the role of Chair of Governors.

Many congratulations to David in taking up this exciting new role managing the Governing Body, and we wish him well in continuing to help make our school the very best possible place to be for our special pupils.

Rev Dr David Gifford also joins us as a Foundation Governor. David is the new Reverend at Holy Trinity Church Bosbury, and is already familiar to our pupils having recently given Class 1 an informative tour of the church and its many fascinating features, as well as leading several collective worship assemblies at the church itself.

More recently, he also organised a very special tree-planting event at Bosbury to commemorate Holocaust Day and the story of a nine-year-old boy called Jiri who was taken to Terezin Concentration Camp in the Czech Republic during the Second World War, before being transported to what is believed to be Auschwitz.

Welcome also to Mrs. Jenny Lowrie, who joins us as our new Parent Governor.

Jenny has been involved at Bosbury School for a good few years now, with a lovely daughter in Class 1 and an enthusiastic son in Class 4.

We wish both Rev David and Mrs. Lowrie well in their new roles working hard behind the scenes to ensure Bosbury School continues to provide the highest levels of quality education and pastoral care for our pupils.

As well as diligently working to help guide our school, our governors also love working first-hand with our brilliant pupils, be it in church leading special collective worship assemblies, in the classroom explaining and tackling some tricky maths, attending Ethos Council meetings to hear our pupils' wonderful ideas to help improve our school community, or up in the wilds of Forest School demonstrating their knot-tying skills!

A big thank you to our governing team for all of the brilliant support they give to our pupils throughout school.
