Summer Fair and Bostival another Roaring Success!
The school field was alive with the sound of fun and music once again last weekend when the FOBS Summer Fair and Bostival returned to Bosbury!
There were bouncy castles, lucky dips, apple bobbing, rat splatting, jar stalls, tombolas, the return of Mr. Ponter's skittles challenge (well done to Joshua Price for hitting a record eleven spare!), and of course, lots of lucky winners on the grand prize draw.
The award-winning Bosbury School choir provided their signature fantastic musical performances throughout the afternoon, along with the drumming club fresh from their bout of busking in Hereford Town Centre the previous weekend...
... and of course, there were plenty of servings of cakes and strawberries on offer too!
Each class also had their own stall, easily the most notorious of which being Class 5's 'Gunge the Teacher' contest, where everyone could pay a pound to vote for one of Bosbury's familiar members of staff to receive the Noel's House Party treatment.
Perhaps largely due to a dastardly sales tactic involving free lollies being given out for each vote being tallied by the Headteacher's picture, it was poor old Miss Spence who eventually got the gunging treatment as the thoroughly unpleasant-looking mixture was tipped over her by some very gleeful Year 6 children. Even now we still don't know exactly what was in that concoction, but rest assured that Mr. Thompson saw a sizeable increase in the amount of paperwork he had to do on his desk on Monday morning.
The fun (well, unless you were the Headteacher...) continued well into the evening as the second ever Bostival event took over, with the many parent and child revellers enjoying further fun and games and live music as well as a camp out on the school field.
A HUGE thank you to Helen Smith and everyone at FOBS for all of their hard work in organizing another extremely successful joint event on such a large scale which will have helped to raise vital funds for our school.
