Mr. Ponter's Star Turn!

Mr. Ponter got rather more than he bargained for during the annual Bosbury School Christmas pantomime trip this time to see Sleeping Beauty at The Courtyard Theatre when he inadvertently ended up being one of the stars of the show!

Thinking that he'd just be part of the community song which traditionally takes place at the end of pantomimes along with a few other volunteers from the audience when he reluctantly signed up to be part of the show with backroom staff in the foyer on arrival, you can imagine his surprise when he was called up on stage very early on by the Dame to share the spotlight with her as he was then required to do a solo dance to the saxophone!

Children and staff roared with laughter as chants of "Mr. Ponter!" echoed around the theatre as he was called up a second time to assist the main cast with some instrument playing, before later going up yet again to lead the community dance with the Dame's son Frankie Sonata!

Well done Mr. Ponter for being such a good sport and performing so confidently in front of so many people who were clearly thrilled by his cameo appearance! The new star in the making even had children from other schools waving at him as he left the theatre!

The pantomime itself (oh yes, the pantomime!) was an absolute delight, with amazing scenery including an incredible purple dragon, brilliant costumes and some dazzling singing and dancing as the children were enchanted by the story of how the Sleeping Beauty Melody was awoken from the slumber of the curse imposed upon her by the spindle of the dastardly Hubbub by the brave Prince Charming Dorian.

A HUGE thank you as always to FOBS for funding another magical Christmas experience for the children and thank you also to all of the adults who accompanied the pupils to the show.

Who will be making a special guest appearance in NEXT year's Bosbury Christmas pantomime trip...?
