Class 4 Host Viking Experience for Parents!
It was longboats and even longer beards at the ready on the Tuesday afternoon of the last week of term as the young Norse seafarers of Class 4 welcomed their (somewhat apprehensive-looking) parents into their classroom for an exciting Viking Experience afternoon as a culmination of all of their hard work this half term on this popular topic.
An amazing display of Nordic work, exhibits and artefacts were on show, including books, photos of the class' visit to Bishops Wood for their Viking Day back in October, Viking jewellery and even clothes which as you can see were very authentically modelled by the pupils themselves!
Even though it would be another 1,200 years before iPads would be invented, Class 4's Nordic denizens proved remarkably adept at using these sophisticated pieces of technology as they guided mums, dads and grandparents through a range of films and interactive media they had created on such topics as Viking battles, clothes, food and beliefs.
A selection of these terrific videos (using the very latest green-screening technology!) can be viewed at your leisure below. Well done to Class 4 on producing such an interesting and exciting museum and a big thank you to Mrs. McManus and her partner, Mr. Smith and our ICT consultant Mark Sanderson for all of their help, support and hard work in making this unique display possible.
