Class 1 begin Forest School!
A big well done to Class 1 this week who all remembered to come to school on Tuesday morning dressed in their full outdoor kit ready for their very first forest school session with Mr. Ponter and Monkey.
The children recited the Bosbury School Forest School Chant® (lyrics shown below) as they marched up to the site, before sitting in the lovely sunshine that morning around the log circle as they were introduced to Monkey and talked to him about the main forest school rules such as walking AROUND the log circle, being aware of trip hazards, low branches and stinging nettles, staying within the forest school boundary, and of course, Mr. Ponter's favourite rule: no picking or licking!
The children were then given the chance to spend the first session exploring the forest school area as well as having a go at their own bark rubbings, using magnifying glasses to go on a minibeast hunt (fitting in perfectly with their topic this term in class!), playing on the log swing and showing great teamwork in working together to lift and carry larger branches in order to start building their very own structures and shelters.
Well done Class 1 on such a superb first session - I wonder what activities Monkey has in store for them next week...?
